ROLLER SHUTTER FAQs

What is the warranty provided with TUS electric roller shutters?

Our TUS Electric roller shutters are a quality product, as such are supported by a 2 year warranty on all components and a 3 year warranty on the electric motor and board.

As always, conditions apply so please read our warranty terms and conditions prior to purchase.

If my vehicle model or year is not listed, is it still available to order?

In some cases YES. Please use the contact form and enter as many details about your vehicle as you can and we will get back to you with a price, availability, cost and ETA.

Does TUS offer non electric versions (manual) roller shutters?

Sorry, unfortunately NO we don’t – the cost difference between manual and electric is minimal and as such we do not stock or sell the non electric versions.

Can I fit my TUS electric roller shutter myself?

It is recommended that you have your TUS electric roller shutter fitted by someone who is qualified in basic automotive skills.  It can be done by someone with technical skills not in the automotive field, however for wiring to the vehicles central locking this MUST be done by someone who is skilled and certified to do so. TUS will not be responsible for any warranty claims to vehicle or TUS product where it has been fitted incorrectly.

If I select the “fitted” option, can I wait for my vehicle to be finished at your store?

Why would you want to do that?  Just let us know you need some wheels whilst your car is in for fitment by ticking the “free loan vehicle” box at checkout and we will give you our TUS loan vehicle complete with tray, tool boxes and ladder rack at no charge.  Conditions and Insurance excess applies

Can you arrange freight to my address?

TUS currently has fitment locations in Melbourne and in coming months locations in NSW and QLD.  We offer delivery Melbourne metro and outside Melbourne can discuss alternate ways to get the products to you - please use the contact us form to get in touch.

What if when I receive the product I no longer want it?

TUS has a 7 day money back return policy, please read our terms and conditions around our return policy.

Are TUS Electric roller shutters waterproof?

Every TUS electric roller shutter is leak tested in the factory upon completion.  The only possibility of leaking once installed is due to one of four reasons:

  1. Incorrect fitment – not covered under warranty unless installed by TUS
  2. Leak is due to manufacturers design/features in the tub itself (some tubs have external holes in the side where they meet the cab. These holes can allow water ingress).
  3. Vehicle parked on incline during extreme weather conditions.
  4. Spray from a high pressure washer if sprayed directly into seals.

What is the carrying capacity of your TUS electric roller shutter?

Strange question but we do get it a lot.  Our electric roller shutters are rated to a 100KG load, however they are not designed without having the optional TUS racks to carry such a load, this statement is purely stating 100kg can be rested on top of the roller shutter without damage. We will not warrant the product if it has been used to carry goods in transit or if it damage has occurred due to static weight in excess of 100KG.

My vehicle has factory fitted sports bars, will the TUS electric roller shutter still allow me to utilise them?

In most cases YES. TUS supplies sports bar adaptor kits for almost all vehicles fitted with such factory options.  If your car has sports bars and you wish to retain them, please add the sports bar adaptor kit for your vehicle model and year.  If you cannot find the correctly listed adaptor – please use the contact us page and we will respond within 48 hours.

I’ve heard stories of roller shutters jamming and failing, will this happen to my TUS electric roller shutter?

Electric roller shutters jam due to one of three reasons:

  1. Poor quality product with substandard rubbers or low powered motor.
  2. Incorrect fitment
  3. Owner not performing the required maintenance as per the roller shutters maintenance schedule.

What maintenance is required by me as the owner to ensure my TUS electric shutter does not jam?

For normal use (Normal use is in a non dusty environment) all roller shutters require the shutter to be opened and the rubbers washed out with a pressure cleaner of mid strength pressure. Then once rubbers are dry, a silicon spray applied to both sides and the shutter opened and closed twice.

What happens if I fail to do the required owner maintenance to my TUS electric roller shutter?

It is the owners responsibility to perform the maintenance as noted in the TUS Electric roller shutter handbook/instructions. If the owner fails to do so and the shutter fails by way of jamming, then any warranty claim on components may be denied if deemed the cause of the failure was poor maintenance.

I use my vehicle for heavy off-roading, is my TUS roller shutter suitable for such use?

If you regularly use your vehicle for off-roading resulting in mud and dust build up in your vehicle, then we suggest using an alternate solution for cargo covering.  No electric roller shutter will be able to function correctly if dust, dirt and debris is built up in the rubbers and tracks without regularly cleaning and applying silicone spray.

I’ve selected a range of TUS products – wheels, tray, canopy and suspension, does this mean I will need to bring my vehicle in multiple times?

No, TUS is your one stop shop offering supply and fitment of many product categories.  We can offer fitment of products from all categories to be fitted all in the one visit.  Our priority is minimising your downtime and getting you back on the job or leisure as soon as possible.  We also offer free loan vehicles when available.
